　　◆a large number of [加可數名詞復數]

　　e.g. The Europeans have also saved a large number of institutions and the issue of whether those institutions owed American companies money has not come up. 伯南克對此辯護道,歐洲同樣要挽救很多金融機構，壓根就不存在這些機構有沒有欠美國公司的錢這檔子事。

　　◆a large amount of [加不可數名詞]

　　e.g. Then you have a huge amount of radioactive gases and particles, and if the primary and secondary containment fails, you have a large amount of radioactive gases escaping into the environment. 這會產生大量的放射性氣體和顆粒，如果層和第二層安全殼都失效的話，大量放射性氣體便會泄漏到外界。

　　◆a host of [加可數名詞復數]

　　e.g. The Tang Dynasty produced a host of great poets, such as Li Bai, Du Fu and Bai Juyi. 唐朝有許多大詩人，如李白、杜甫、白居易等。

　　e.g. The very wealthy pay the most taxes per person, but the bulk of tax revenue comes from those who are not so wealthy.

　　非常有錢的人每人支付的稅也多,但是大部分的稅收卻來自于那些不那么富有的人。

　　e.g.The bulk of Indian investments were in Nigeria.印度的大部分投資在尼日利亞。

　　◆a majority of [加可數名詞復數]

　　e.g. A majority of school kids graduate unable to communicate in languages that they study for 10 or more years. 大多數孩子畢業的時候不能用他們已經學了 10 年或者10幾年的語言交流。

　　◆a minority of [加可數名詞復數]

　　e.g. A minority of shrewd billionaires have succeeded in prospering despite the tumultuous conditions. 有少數精明的億萬富翁得以在動蕩的環境中獲取成功。

　　越來越：

　　◆an increasing/growing number of +可數名詞復數=越來越多的

　　e.g. These efforts are in response to an increasing number of food safety problems and rising consumer concerns.

　　這些努力是為了回應越來越多的食品安全問題和消費者的關注。

　　e.g. In the 21st century, an ever growing number of parents are taking a little time out of their week to practice yoga.

　　◆increasingly+形容詞或副詞原形

　　e.g. The contradictions are becoming increasingly acute.

　　矛盾日益尖銳。

　　e.g. This region is becoming increasingly important both strategically and economically. 這個地區的戰略地位和經濟地位變得越來越重要了。
