　　Grabbing red envelopes has been hogging the limelight in our daily life since the 2016 Spring Festival. At no point is it clearer that this activity has endowed our vapid life with the flavor of high-tech and fun, especially giving traditions typical of festive periods, such as the Chinese New Year and Chinese Valentine’s Day, a facelift.

　　However, some people may be trapped in a situation where they put the cart before the horse. Disappointedly, what some people do on festivals is not to communicate with their relatives and friends but to hold their cell phones and fix their eyes on the screen all day long, just in order to grab red envelops. For my part, what really matters is the relationship instead of the money. Essentially speaking, gifting red envelopes is beyond reproach. Only in a rational way shall we not be reduced to slaves of materialism or hijacked by the high technology.

　　Festivals offer precious opportunities for us to send good wishes to our beloved ones and  what we should do is to cherish these chances rather than to ignore the essential connotation of the festivals. Anyhow, kinship, friendship and other relationships are above anything and we ought to make every endeavor lest the profound cultural atmosphere of traditional festivals should decline.

　　從2016年的春節起，搶紅包在我們的日常生活中變得越來越流行。儼然，搶紅包這種現象往我們比較乏味的日常生活中添加了些許高科技的元素和樂趣，尤其使得那些傳統節假日（比如說春節和七夕節，等等）的習俗變得煥然一新。

　　但是，有些人似乎有點本末倒置了。令人失望的是，有些人在節假日整天拿著手機，盯著屏幕不放，為的是能搶到紅包，卻不和家人、親戚朋友交流。在我看來，真正重要的是人與人之間的那份感情而不是金錢。從本質上來說，發紅包無可厚非。但是只有理性的做法才會讓我們能免于成為物質的奴隸并且不被所謂的高科技所綁架。

　　節假日提供給我們千載難逢的機會去向我們所愛的人表達良好的祝愿和祝福，我們應該珍惜這些機會而不是忽視了節假日的真正內涵。不管怎樣，親情，友情和其他諸多情感是至高無上的，我們應該盡全力不讓傳統節假日的那種濃厚的文化氛圍衰落和凋零。
